Unstable Communities is proposed as an open encounter in which to build, over the course of three days, a provisional space for action, reflection, and exchange between agents and initiatives particularly interested in the confluence between artistic practices, social processes, and collective learning.
Unstable Communities is designed to be an heterogeneous format in which different kinds of activities will take place: workshops, walks, conversations or performance art pieces, all designed to create a framework in which to connect already existing initiatives, interested artists and communities yet to come, looking for different ways of interacting.
Unstable Communities does not anticipate how the recipients might be composed, rather it is an open call for a variety of practices that open places from induction through art and culture, as well as from associations or activism, and that give substance to new social and sensitive forms.
Unstable Communities is conceived as an action without rehearsal, in which participants can speak from different positions. This meeting wants to think from practice, creating a community of the here and now, and asking itself about the transience, precariousness, fragility and intensity that characterises many communities. This way of meeting wants to intensify an exchange of experiences, transcending the dynamics of passive listening.
Unstable Communities does not intend to elaborate a repertoire of possible tools or methodologies for a fusion that is conflictive, hybrid, questioned, imperfect, but it does offer itself as an interface in which to reflect, critically and collectively, on a type of practice that is tagged as collaborative, participative or situated, but is of growing relevance in institutional demands. This growing exhibition requires a co-elaboration of the questions that recurrently appear during the implementation, development and impact of these processes.
